A decree of the Ministry of Culture and Arts dated 8th November 1948, requesting Prof. Tadeusz Sygietyński to establish the State Song And Dance Ensemble . .Mazowsze., forever changed the Polish performance scene. Now, 50 years later, M.Ostrowski Company also received an opportunity to contribute to evolution of this .peculiarity. in European culture. The ensemble was supplied with a YAMAHA M7CL48 digital mixing console, especially designed for handling live performances. The console includes 48 mono microphone/line inputs and 4 stereo inputs thus providing a total of 56 mixing channels. Each input channel has a 6-segment level meter, access to +48V phantom power, delay line, high pass filter (HPF), 4-band parametric equalizer and two independent dynamics processors. Outputs from the 16 mix busses, 8 matrixes or the main LCR busses can be sent (digitally patched) to 16 analog OMNI OUT connectors.

Besides the advanced channel mixing features, the console also offers a virtual effects and equalizer rack with up to 4 simultaneous multi-effect processors and up to 8 simultaneous 1/3-octave graphic equalizers, of which each can be linked to any of the mixing channels or output busses. In order to provide failsafe operation the console is also equipped with a redundant power supply. All communications between the heart of the system consisting of the YAMAHA M7CL48 console and the stage are performed digitally through two rack boxes equipped with AVIOM A/D and D/A converters, using the A-Net protocol for digital audio signal communications.

The rack box on stage is fitted with three AVIOM AN-16/i-M microphone/line input modules and one AVIOM AN-16/o line output module.

Signals from the stage are fed to the rack box converters through three stage boxes, where each is equipped with 16 XLR female socket inputs and 2 male socket XLR outputs.

The three stage boxes provide a total of 48 input feeds from the stage (supplied to the AVIOM AN-16/i-M converters) and 6 returns (supplied from the console.s OMNI OUT sockets #1-6 through the first 6 outputs of the AN-16/o converter). The OMNI OUT sockets #7-16 from the console are also linked to the rack box, where they are available through 10 XLR male panel-mounted sockets, which can be used for example for connection of the .d&b audiotechnik. sound reinforcement system, which was also supplied here by M.Ostrowski.

Each of the AVIOM AN-16/i-M converters offers 16 microphone/line inputs, where each of the channels has a three-segment level LED meter indicating Clip, -10dB and Signal status, along with a phantom power switch, high pass filter and polarization switch. The single AVIOM AN-16/o (analog output) converter is used to provide the local output connections coming from the YAMAHA M7CL48 console output sockets. The device is also equipped with an output level selection switch.

The console itself includes a transport rack box equipped with 3 AVIOM AN-16/o modules and one AVIOM AN16/i module.

The AN-16/o converters are used to feed the audio signals (48 channels) to the mono inputs of the console, whilst the AN16/i converter is used to transfer the 16 OMNI OUT signals from the console back to the stage. Analog signal transfer between the YAMAHA M7CL48 console and the rack box is carried out using two multi-pair cables equipped with HARTING 108 pin plugs and sockets.

The 64 audio channels in digital form are transmitted between the two boxes (one next to the console and one by the stage) using traditional CAT-5 Ethernet cable.
